Bursa Textile Show Fair, organized for the 6th time by KFA Fair Organization under the leadership of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opened its doors. Bringing together about 300 foreign buyers from 30 countries with manufacturers this year, Bursa Textile Show will continue to host its visitors for three days at Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center.

Bursa Textile Show brings together the companies producing clothing fabrics and accessories with domestic and foreign buyers. At the event organized by the Global Fair Agency (KFA) with the support of the Ministry of Commerce, KOSGEB, Uludağ Textile Exporters' Association (UTİB) and Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone Industrialists' Business People's Association (DOSABSİAD), 111 companies presented their autumn-winter 2022/23 fabric collections to the visitors. Within the scope of the fair, which is held with the aim of adding strength to the city's exports, a joint procurement committee organization is also carried out within the scope of UR-GE projects carried out by BTSO in the textile sector with the support of the Ministry of Trade. This year, 300 foreign buyers from 30 countries, mainly from European and North African countries and Turkic Republics, are participating in the procurement committee organization.

BTSO Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay stated that they will hold the Bursa Textile Show for the sixth time this year, which they started to organize as a B2B event within the scope of UR-GE projects, and said, “It is no longer enough to produce high quality production in the competitive conditions in the world. You have to present and market what you produce to the world. At this point, it is very important to organize fairs in production centers such as Bursa. This event, which we started with UR-GE projects, has turned into a mini fair today. I would like to thank all textile sector representatives who believed and supported our fair since the very beginning of the project.” said.

Emphasizing that they aim to make Bursa Textile Show one of the most important meetings in the world in its field, President Burkay said, “However, we do not want to increase the number of participants without increasing the number of visitors to the fair. In order for our fair to compete with the world's largest fairs in the next 5-10 years, we are taking the necessary strategic steps in a planned manner together with the sector stakeholders. Our fair commission determined the future buyers this year as a result of a very meticulous study. Despite the epidemic conditions, we will host more than 300 foreign buyers from 30 countries at our fair. This number will increase even more when we include the buyers coming with their own means. We aim to host more than 3,000 domestic and foreign visitors at our fair for 3 days. I wish our fair to be beneficial for our industry.” said.

Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat stated that the textile industry is the industry branch that has the largest say among Turkey's exporting sectors worldwide. Stating that Turkey has become the 7th largest textile exporter in the world and the 2nd textile exporter in the EU thanks to visionary entrepreneurs, qualified human resources and production capabilities in the textile sector, Governor Canbolat said, “Another important feature that makes the sector strategic is its outsourcing not being dependent.

Bursa and our country have an integrated and strong structure in the sector from raw materials to final products. This strong structure is also reflected in export figures. After automotive, the sectors that contribute the most to Bursa's exports are the textile and ready-made clothing sectors. Bursa Textile Show Fair, which was held for the 6th time this year under the leadership of BTSO, will also make significant contributions to our industry. I wish our fair to be beneficial for all participants.” said.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that Bursa has a deep-rooted production tradition in the textile industry. Stating that the textile industry has managed to maintain its importance for Bursa's economy for many years, Alinur Aktaş said, "Bursa Textile Show, organized for the 6th time this year under the leadership of BTSO, will strengthen the increasing export momentum of the city. I would like to thank everyone who contributed and wish the fair good luck.” he said.

BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur stated that the UR-GE projects implemented under the leadership of BTSO made significant contributions to the city's exports, and said, "Our textile sector is one of the leading sectors that achieved significant results with project activities. One of the important achievements of our industry, which has been a source of inspiration for all of Turkey with its successes, was the 'Bursa Textile Show Fair'. The fair, which provides our companies with the opportunity to present their production capability and quality products to international buyers, will be held for the 6th time this year. I hope that the fair will be beneficial and fruitful for our industry, our companies and our Bursa business world.” said.
After the opening speeches, the members of the protocol visited the companies that opened their stands at the fair. Bringing together industry professionals and companies, Bursa Textile Show is held between 19-21 October.
